Seems that free outdoor movie screenings are popping up all over Toronto this summer. I wrote about the series that the Entertainment District BIA and TIFF are putting on in Metro Square a few weeks ago and now I’m hearing about Movies Under the Stars — family-friendly films being projected in Downsview Park every Friday night from July 2 to September 1 (full schedule of films below).
Screenings will start at 9 p.m. on the raised parking lot off Carl Hall Road (just east of John Drury Drive). The organizers recommend you bring blankets and folding chairs for your comfort. You are also allowed to bring your own food and drinks but no alcohol or barbeques are permitted. Dogs on leashes are welcome and there will be portable toilets on site.
