The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is easily one of the best thrillers I’ve ever seen. It’s also one of the best films of the year. Based on the Stieg Larsson novel, the film unfolds as journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Michael Nyqvist) is hired to investigate a forty-year-old missing persons case. What Mikael doesn’t know is that a young computer hacker/security expert named Lisbeth Salander (Noomi Rapace, pictured) has been hired to follow and dig up dirt on him as well. As the case becomes more of a mystery to Mikael, and his life is put in danger, Lisbeth secretly begins to help him solve it. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is a must see (especially before the American remake is made). In Swedish with English subtitles. Available on DVD
and Blu-ray
.
