At a press conference in Toronto today, 15 Galas and 35 Special Presentations were announced for the 35th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), and with new films from Robert Redford, Michael Winterbottom, Guillaume Canet, Alejandro González Iñárritu, Mahamat-Saleh Haroun, Mike Leigh, Julian Schnabel, and Woody Allen having their world or North American premieres, it’s ramping up to be one of the most diverse line-ups in the festival’s history.
“The richness and diversity of this year’s Galas and Special Presentations programmes reflect the abundance of exciting works from established and emerging filmmakers in the world of cinema,” Piers Handling, Director and CEO of TIFF, said.
TIFF 2010 runs from September 9 to 19. The list of titles released are below. More films screening in the Gala and Special Presentation programmes will be announced in the coming weeks. For full descriptions of the films, and to purchase tickets, visit tiff.net/thefestival.
