When Sylvester Stallone’s testosterone-driven throwback to the action films of the 1980s, The Expendables, opens in Canada today it will be the largest release in the history of distributor Maple Pictures with 346 prints playing in 311 theatres across the country. In comparison, their second largest release, Kick-Ass, only hit 227 theatres with 257 prints earlier this year.
