One of the many films I’m anticipating at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) is Deborah Chow’s The High Cost of Living, starring Zach Braff. The story revolves around a man named Henry (Braff) who decides to drive home one night well above the legal alcohol limit. He makes a bad turn and ends up hitting a pregnant woman (played by Isabelle Blais). In a panic he takes off, leaving her on the ground a bloody mess. The story unfolds from each side as the two try to live with the consequences of that night.

Although there is still no official trailer for The High Cost of Living we did get our hands on a clip from a scene that appears after the accident. It portrays the overall tone of the film and shows a sullen side of Braff that we don’t usually get to see onscreen. Check out the video clip below and let us know what you think.

TIFF 2010 runs from September 9 to 19. To find out when The High Cost of Living is playing at TIFF, visit tiff.net/filmsandschedules.
