Cineplex Entertainment announced last week that UltraAVX will be offered in 11 cinemas across Canada by December 17, 2010. UltraAVX features larger screens, upgraded surround sound, and a clearer, stunning picture.
SilverCity Brampton Cinemas, SilverCity Mississauga Cinemas, and Coliseum Scarborough Cinemas were the first to roll out the new theatres over the weekend; Coliseum Ottawa Cinemas and Galaxy Cinemas Chilliwack will open later this month; and Scotiabank Theatre Montreal and Toronto will open the new theatres in time for the holidays. Additional UltraAVX auditoriums are planned to open across Canada in 2011.
“Guests love UltraAVX and these auditoriums have been selling out regularly in every location where they are available; it seems we cannot add them fast enough,” said Pat Marshall, Vice President, Communications and Investor Relations, Cineplex Entertainment. “Guests have raved about the enhanced sight and sound experiences and love the ability to reserve their seats in advance.”
UltraAVX features substantially larger wall-to-wall screens than traditional screens; a digital surround sound system utilizing the latest in Dolby Digital sound technology; Christie Solaria 2230 DLP Cinema projectors provide superior digital presentation projecting visually stunning, crystal clear images onto the big screen; and the addition of RealD 3D technology enhances and presents the latest 3-D movies. A new reserved seating option and extra-wide, high-back rocker seats are also offered.
