Looking for something unique to do in Toronto this weekend? Check out the fourth annual the 8 fest: Small-Gauge Film Festival, presented by a dedicated group of filmmakers that want to preserve and share work done on 8mm, Super 8, and 9.5mm film formats.
Celebrating small-gauge filmmakers from around the world, the festival showcases films in categories ranging from personal, handmade, and experimental, to animation, performance/film, and music/film, as well as work in installation, loops, and ‘proto-cinema devices’ such as zoetropes.
The festival runs January 28 – 30 at Trash Palace, 89-B Niagara Street (just west of Bathurst). Tickets are $5 per event or $25 for a festival pass. For more info, including schedule and movie listings, visit the8fest.com.
