
January 12, 2011 marks the first anniversary of the terrible earthquake that leveled a majority of Haiti, taking the lives of over 200,000 people and leaving over a million residents homeless. While most of us may have put it out of our minds over the last 12 months, for the team behind the three-part documentary series Inside Disaster Haiti it’s something they think about often.
Criticize This! spoke with Inside Disaster Haiti executive producer Andrea Nemtin about how their team was able to get to Haiti so quickly after the earthquake hit, their relationship with the Red Cross, and what she hopes viewers will take away from the series. Inside Disaster Haiti airs on TVO January 11, 12, 13 at 9 p.m. It will repeat on TVO at 9 p.m. on January 26 (Pt. 1), February 2 (Pt. 2), and February 9 (Pt. 3).
