Gnome Event

As we mentioned a few weeks ago, eOne Films was going to attempt to break the Guinness World Record today (February 21, 2011) for the largest gathering of people dressed like garden gnomes. Well, it looks like they did it! At 10 a.m. this morning 262 people were seated at the AMC Yonge-Dundas in Toronto dressed like gnomes. 250 people were needed to break the record, which did not have a previous entry.

Another bonus for eOne Films this weekend was that Gnomeo & Juliet (the film that the gnome event was in celebration of) was #1 at the Canadian box office, taking in a total of $1,826,417.
