There’s a Guinness World Record for a crowd of people dressed as garden gnomes? Who knew! Well, eOne Films obviously did, and they are going to attempt to break the record in Toronto on Family Day to promote the animated film Gnomeo & Juliet.
If you want to participate in this history-making event, gather the kids, get your best gnome costume on, and head down to the AMC Yonge-Dundas on the morning of Monday, February 21 (exact time to be confirmed). The first 400 people to arrive in costume will get to see the movie for free (in 3-D) and will have access to fun family-friendly activities before the screening.
About Gnomeo & Juliet:
Gnomeo (voice of James McAvoy) and Juliet (voice of Emily Blunt) have as many obstacles to overcome as their Shakespearean namesakes… but with plastic pink flamingoes and thrilling lawnmower races in the mix, can these star-crossed lovers avoid tragedy and find a happy ending? Gnomeo & Juliet is directed by Kelly Asbury (Shrek 2) and features both classic and original songs by Elton John (who also produced the film).
Even more exciting news is that Toronto-based Starz Animation was one of the studios that helped create most of the film.
Gnomeo & Juliet is in theatres on Februaury 11.
