Pixar Animation will help kick-off the 2011 Sprockets Toronto International Film Festival for Children and Youth on April 8 with the world premiere of their new 3-D animated short film, Hawaiian Vacation.
Featuring characters from the popular Toy Story films, Hawaiian Vacation follows Buzz (voice of Tim Allen) and Woody (voice of Tom Hanks) as they round up a group of toys to throw Ken (voice of Michael Keaton) and Barbie (voice of Jodi Benson) a special Hawaiian “vacation” from inside their new owners bedroom. Joan Cusack, Don Rickles, Estelle Harris, Bonnie Hunt, Timothy Dalton, Jeff Garlin, and John Ratzenberger return to lend their voice talents as well.
Along with the 6-minute short, the opening night programme at Sprockets 2011 will include a sneak peek of Pixar’s Cars 2, in theatres this summer, and a behind-the-scenes presentation by a Pixar animator who worked on both films.
Sprockets 2011 runs from April 5 to 17 at the TIFF Bell Lightbox. Tickets are on sale March 8 for TIFF members and March 22 for the general public. For more information, visit tiff.net/sprockets.
