Listen up animation students and Pixar fans! John Lasseter, Chief Creative Officer for Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios, is coming to Toronto to speak at the TIFF Bell Lightbox on June 7 as part of TIFF’s In Conversation With… series.
Joining TIFF’s Head of Film Programmes, Jesse Wente, Lasseter will be discussing his body of work, showing off clips that highlight his career, and taking questions from the audience. Sounds like it will be a fun, informative night with one of today’s gurus of animation.
In a press release sent out about the event, Wente said, “Not only are the impact and legacy of John’s films undeniable, but he has arguably the coolest job in the world! As he gears up for the release of Cars 2, having him on stage personally sharing his insights, experiences and knowledge with TIFF audiences is truly an incredible opportunity.”
This is the only Canadian public event planned for Lasseter’s promo tour of Cars 2, which opens in theatres June 24.
