Sail-In Cinema brings floating movies to Toronto

As part of the Toronto Port Authority’s 100th anniversary celebrations they’re launching Canada’s first-ever floating movie theatre experience off the shores of Toronto’s Sugar Beach.

Called Sail-In Cinema, the series runs August 18 – 20 at dusk with screenings of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (August 18), Jaws (August 19), and Finding Nemo (August 20). The movies will be projected on a giant 28-foot double-sided screen so that people can watch from the beach or from a boat in the water (a drive-in for boats, how cool is that?).

This is a FREE event but tickets are required for people watching from land. Visit sailincinema.com for more information and to get tickets.

Sugar Beach is located at 25 Dockside Drive, just east of the foot of Jarvis Street. For a list of more outdoor movie screenings in Toronto this summer, click here.
