George Clooney’s political drama The Ides of March is one of the most buzzed about films playing at TIFF 2011. With a cast that includes Ryan Gosling, Paul Giamatti, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Marisa Tomei, Evan Rachel Wood, and Clooney himself, this could also be one of the big Oscar contenders of the year (which is the case for a lot of films that play at TIFF each year). The trailer for it is great and if the movie is half as good it’s a winner in my books. Check it out below and let us know your thoughts in the comments.
About The Ides of March (courtesy TIFF):
The Ides of March takes place during the frantic last days before a heavily contested Ohio presidential primary, when an up-and- coming campaign press secretary (Ryan Gosling) finds himself involved in a political scandal that threatens to upend his candidate’s shot at the presidency.
The Ides of March is having its North American premiere at TIFF 2011 before opening wide October 7.
