This is a recap of the fifth episode of Pan Am, entitled One Coin in a Fountain. Spoilers ahead if you have not seen it!
This week the crew heads to Monte Carlo. An attractive woman randomly enters the cockpit looking for Jujubes. Dean is so cocky that he thinks it’s not noticeable that he leaves the cockpit to personally hand the lady a box provided by Ted. Of course, he begins an affair with her. But then soon discovers she’s the mistress or secretary (or maybe even both) to the Senior VP of Pan Am. Is Dean’s new Captaincy in jeopardy? And a possible plot twist (purely in my imagination), Dean gets demoted and Ted gets Captaincy. That would be a very interesting plot development. Can you imagine the throwdowns? Both of them would be buying each other a lot of drinks to kiss and make up.
Laura wants to make a new start so she wants to return her engagement ring to Greg but discovers someone has bought it from the pawn shop she sold it to. I’m getting tired of her being so annoying. I mean, Ted’s kind of an asshole in this episode, but Laura kinda deserves it. She’s so impatient and bitchy. Get a grip woman. I know you want to move on, but can you stop acting so huffy? Ted makes up for his bad behavior by trading his Rolex to obtain Laura’s ring. It’s kinda sweet actually. Ted is growing on me.
More spy business for Kate. She’s getting a little more sure of herself so she’s not as much of a bumbling fool as she was the previously. The fact that Maggie gave up Nikko to Laura so quickly in exchange for breakfast chores seemed too easy. I mean, the guy’s not so bad, is he? At least the assignment was done quickly without a screw-up. I kept thinking one more and she’d be fired. Although, it’s unknown if she actually gets a salary from this. I’m thinking Nikko is a spy or a double agent. Maybe we’ll find out later?
I think Collette and Dean would make a good couple. Are they just friends now? Dean needs to stop falling for the wrong women. Collette would be good for him I think. And Maggie needs a backstory. Everyone else has reasons why they joined Pan Am. I’m dying to know hers. Maybe they’ll tell us next week.
