Play the ‘Super 8′ “Hide and Tweet” game

In the department of interesting marketing gimmicks, Paramount Home Entertainment have kicked off a promotion called Hide and Tweet to celebrate the release of J.J. Abrams awesome monster movie Super 8 on DVD and Blu-ray next week.

The premise of the promo, which is happening in 19 cities across the U.S. and in Toronto, is to follow clues given out on Super8Tweet.com in order to find a Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack copy of the movie signed by Abrams in your city. People who follow the clues and find the location of the Blu-ray will also have the chance to win other prizes from Paramount, including tickets to the premiere of Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol, a collection of Abrams’ films on Blu-ray, additional signed merchandise, and more.

The first Toronto clue is set to go live today (November 18) at 2 p.m. ET. If you find the location, Tweet us pics @criticizethis or by using the hashtag #Super8Movie.
