This is a recap of the tenth episode of Terra Nova, entitled Now You See Me. Spoilers ahead if you have not seen it!

It’s all about the finding the Sixer mole again this week. Terra Nova’s on lockdown and no one goes out of the compound without disclosing the reasons why. Taylor is intent on nailing this spy and yet, he’s going on some undisclosed trek in the wild. Some upstart young soldier tries to follow procedure to the letter and asks him to disclose reasons why he’s leaving Terra Nova. He gets shutdown. “No exceptions” doesn’t include questioning your superior officer. Bad soldier.

As soon as Taylor leaves, the spy is caught using a mirror to flash a message to the Sixers. Jim’s in charge of the colony while its leader is away and he takes Reynolds to investigate. And the mole is….. Skye. Turns out she’s being blackmailed into spying to keep her sick Ma alive by medicine only the Sixers have. All that build-up on finding out the spy’s identity and they give it up at the beginning of the show. I feel so used. Why draw out this mystery only to have a lame reveal? This is one of my issues with Terra Nova. The dramatic build up and then the massive let down. If you’re gonna build up the mystery of the Sixer spy, don’t blow it before the end of the episode.

So Taylor is on a mission to find his lost son, Lucas, and is captured by Mira while doing so. But they get trapped by two slasher dinosaurs (Bonus! Two dinosaurs of the week!!!) and have to work together to fend them off. Mira admits to being a convict and only works for the evil government of 2149 cause she couldn’t get a job otherwise and didn’t want her 7-year-old daughter to live on the streets. I can’t picture Mira as a mom. Also, I’ve always thought she was a badass villain. Now that she gives a legitimate reason for being on the evil side to protect her family, I just don’t feel the same. Meanwhile, Taylor also gets all paternal and asks Mira how Lucas is doing. Last episode he was threatening to kill him and this week he’s worried if his son’s eating properly. That is some screwed up father-son relationship.

Jim’s able to narrow the suspect list to 47 females through finding a single drop of blood left behind. Skye’s in danger of being found out. Taylor is going to be very unhappy about this development.

Most awkward episode moment is Reynolds declaring his intentions to Jim about wanting to marry Maddy. The Twilight-style acting was groan worthy. Jim seemed to accept this without any problems. If a would-be suitor declares his intentions for your 16-year-old daughter, are you not obligated to at least warn him that he should watch himself or you’ll go after him with a shotgun? Just me, I guess.

The cool dinosaur moment of the week is when Mira and Taylor set one on fire while defending themselves from being eaten by Slasher dinosaurs. How are they gonna top this next week?
