The full lineup for the 2012 Cannes Film Festival was released this morning and not one, but two members of the Cronenberg family will have their films featured.

David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis, which stars Robert Pattinson as a Manhattan billionaire on a bizarre journey across the city to get a haircut, will be screening in competition, while David’s son Brandon will have his first feature, Antiviral, screen in the Un Certain Regard programme.

Here’s the official description of Antiviral:

Syd March, an employee at the Lucas clinic, sells injections of live viruses harvested from sick celebrities to obsessed fans. Biological communion – for a price. He also supplies illegal samples of these viruses to piracy groups, smuggling them from the clinic in his own body. When he becomes infected with the disease that kills super sensation Hannah Geist, Syd becomes a target for collectors and rabid fans and must now unravel the mystery surrounding her death before he suffers the same fate.

The film stars Caleb Landry Jones, Sarah Gadon, and Malcolm MacDowell.

Quebec filmmaker Xavier Dolan has his latest film, Laurence Anyways, also screening in the Un Certain Regard programme. The film is described as an impossible love story between a man and woman after the man decides to have a sex change.

The 2012 Cannes Film Festival runs from May 16 – 27.
