NXNE releases a dynamite lineup

NXNE, the annual music fest which takes over Toronto from June 11-17, has announced some big acts for this year. Flaming Lips will be the headlining act of the festival, playing a free show at Yonge-Dundas Square on June 16 (Wayne Coyne ball and all).

Announced Tuesday were some big names who’ve been at this music thing for decades: Ghostface & Raekwon, Bad Religion and Matthew Good. As well as some names from the present and future, such as: The Men, Purity Ring, Of Montreal and Unknown Mortal Orchestra. Also named Tuesday were Good Riddance, Death Grips, Bleached and No Use for a Name.

These acts solidify what promises to be one of the best NXNE’s in recent years, other highlights: Young Magic, Plants & Animals, Mac DeMarco, Porcelain Raft, Ceremony, The Death Set, Friends, Yamantaka/Sonic Titan, The Sadies, Doldrums, Action Bronson and plenty more, including Bran Van 3000…yes, that Bran Van 3000.
