Dress up like your favourite ‘Street Fighter’ character for a good cause

Well this is something you don’t get to do every day. Toronto rep theatre The Projection Booth is hosting a special Street Fighter costume party and screening of the 1994 Jean-Claude Van Damme film based on the popular game this Saturday, June 2 at 9 p.m. to raise money for the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation.

Besides the fact that there might be some babes dressed like Chun-Li at the event, attendees will have the chance to win prizes for best costume courtesy of Atomic Age Comics. Costumes will be judged by a panel that includes The Gore-Gore Rollergirls, Raymi the Minx, and Taekwondo champion Hayk Amirbekyan, which is pretty awesome in itself. Free Taekwondo lessons, an XBOX Street Fighter tournament, and a bar hosted by Muskoka Brewery are also on the lineup. The best news though is that this is all for charity with $1 from each ticket going to the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door or in advance online here. For more information on The Projection Booth, visit projectionbooth.ca.
