In a note sent out to press this morning from Paramount Pictures it appears the studio has decided to move the release of G.I. Joe: Retaliation from this summer to March 29, 2013. They’re also going to be doing a 3-D makeover for it. Although no official reason was given, it might be due to the fact that the film would never be able to compete in a year with The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises, and The Amazing Spider-Man and would sink faster than Battleship. As for the 3-D conversion, we feel it’s a terrible idea that could backfire and lose the studio even more money in the long run.
Moving into the June 29 release date left open by G.I. Joe: Retaliation is Seth McFarlene’s comedy Ted, starring Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, and a raunchy CGI teddy bear.
