Good music videos still exist! – NXNE edition

With NXNE less than two weeks away, take a moment to watch some new music videos from three of the big names hitting Toronto for the fest.

First up are Toronto’s very own shoegaze revivalists A Place to Bury Strangers, with a video for 'You are the One', the first single off their upcoming LP Worship. This track takes the rocking and noisy shoegaze territory they have traversed over the first five years of their existence and adds a touch of Joy Divisionish dark post-punk. We dig it.

A Place to Bury Strangers will be playing The El Mocambo on Thursday, June 14 at 1AM.

Also playing NXNE are The Death Set out of Gold Coast, Australia. This trio started off as an abrasively expiremental guitar rock band, but this track off of last year’s Michel Poiccard shows the band progressing into more tender indie-pop territory.

The Death Set will be playing Wrongbar on Friday, June 15 at 1AM.

Last, but certainly not least, we have a new video from DIIV. DIIV, formerly named Dive, are a side project from Beach Fossils‘ Zachary Smith, and they churn their fuzz-rock out of Brooklyn. ‘How Long Have You Known’ is an overtly romantic tale of unrequited love, reminding us of high-school and ill-advised love letters, the reverb drenched guitars acting like those memories bouncing to the surface.

DIIV will be playing Lee’s Palace on Friday, June 15 at 10PM.
