When I interviewed filmmaker Justin McConnell last year about his excellent post-apocalyptic thriller The Collapsed (coming to DVD on June 5), he mentioned his next project was Skull World — a documentary on a man trying to build the Canadian chapter of Box Wars. If you’re curious, Box Wars is basically a bunch of people who dress in cardboard costumes and beat the crap out of each other. It looks pretty fun and McConnell’s subject, the metalhead Greg Sommer (aka Skull Man), is the perfect character to be leading the charge of this hobby in Canada.
With Skull World heading to the Cannes Film Market (Marché Du Film) this month, McConnell has released an awesome redband trailer for it. Check it out below and let us know your thoughts in the comments.
