The good music videos continue to pour in this year, and this installation of Good Music Videos Still Exist is proof of that, with four videos featured.
First up is a track courtesy dark new-wave troubador Twin Shadow. George Lewis Jr.’s second album Confess is out on July 10th via 4AD Records, and it’s a doozy. Check out the cinematic video for lead single ‘Five Seconds’ below and stay tuned to Criticize This for a full review of the album in the coming weeks.
Another band with a fun music video out this week is The Walkmen. Check out their video for the title track off Heaven, which I gave plenty of praise earlier this year. The New York five-piece have been around for a decade now, and this video makes use of that, employing photos and videos spanning years of touring and recording.
Eternal Summers are gaining steam ahead of the release of their second LP Correct Behaviour. The Roanoke, VA-based duo, who performed at The Drake during NXNE, churn out a punchy version of dream-pop that is so right for summer. The new music video for ‘Wonder’ is equally suitable for a strange summer.
Brooklyn has always been a trend-setter in music, and just about every other facet of pop culture, and Lemonade are keeping that tradition going. The New York trio bond post-punk and Eurodance on their LP Diver which came out in late May. Check out ‘Soft Kiss’ to get a taste of their tunes, and don’t be afraid to dance a lil’ this Friday.
