Good music videos still exist! Episode five

I have preached about Mac De Marco in the past and with good reason, his debut LP ‘Rock and Roll Nightclub’ is a killer, full of a dozen danceable tracks. The title track now has its very own video, delightfully cheesy, the video is a glimpse into the album and the artist as a whole, grimey, tongue-in-cheek and all around fun.

Don’t let this week’s slightly cooler temperatures fool you, this is still the dead of summer, and the aptly titled Poolside want to provide the backing music for these hot days. Their album Pacific Standard Time is a must-hear compilation of laid back pool party electro crossbred with disco, something the band has dubbed ‘daytime disco’. Whatever you want to call this band’s music, it’s good.

Baio is the side-project of Vampire Weekend bassist Chris Baio, and his debut EP, titled Sunburn is another perfect summer soundtrack. One of only two tracks on the release, ‘Sunburn Modern’ has a weird (in a good way) video to accompany its chill electrocalypso vibe, check it out below.
