Peter Hedges’ The Odd Life of Timothy Green tells the story of Jim (Joel Edgerton) and Cindy (Jennifer Garner); a married couple unable to have a child of their own and happen to wish one to grow in their garden. What transpires is an emotional roller-coaster ride that blends fantasy and humour perfectly to create one of the most touching, feel-good family films of the year.
For both Edgerton, who is coming off a run that includes movies such as Animal Kingdom, Warrior, and The Thing, and Hedges, whose last film was the 2007 Steve Carell dramedy Dan in Real Life, this was a chance to work on a film outside of their comfort level and one that could springboard them into a number of other genres. Criticize This! was lucky enough to speak with the two about the film during a press stop in Toronto. Watch our interview below.
The Odd Life of Timothy Green hits theatres everywhere on Wednesday, August 15.
